LAUNDRY
Free laundry service is offered to you during your volunteering stay.
There is a basket in the back room at the reception where you can drop off your laundry inside a plastic bag. Your clothing will be ready on average two days later. You can pick it up from the laundry room at the back of the office, it will be in a plastic bag labeled voluntaria.
ORDERING YOUR MEALS
You are entitled to three free meals per day.
Please write your order for the entire day on a sheet of paper to help the kitchen plan ahead. Please be patient when waiting for your meal; the kitchen staff are completing many tasks at once and firstly serve the hotel guests. So it is not uncommon to wait 30 or 45 minutes for your meal to be served.
ENJOYING YOUR MEALS
There is a special dinning rooms for the volunteers and the employees.
It is very important that you clean your eating area and bring your clean plates back to the kitchen.
COFFEE/JUICE
You are welcome to ask a member of our kitchen team for a cup of coffee or glass of juice during the day according to the kitchen schedule.
HOTEL LOBBY/RESTAURANT/SITTING AREA
The rescue center is located on the property of Hotel Lands in love and it is not part of the hotel facilities which are for the guest only. We request that our volunteering friends remain outside of the hotel lobby, TV room and restaurant area. Please remember that the hotel lobby is not part of the rescue center. So you are kindly requested to walk around the outside of the building when moving from the reception area to the kitchen.

If you would like to enjoy a meal from the hotel guest menu, you will get a 25% discount
VALUABLES
You must not leave any expensive personal belongings (cell phones, cameras, laptops, money) unattended in your room and to carry them with you. We can store the small items such as your passport and money securely at the front desk reception. Your laptop and camera can be kept in our office.
LOCAL EMPLOYEES
We employ about 120 local individuals here in a variety of positions. Some of our Costa Rican friends speak conversational English, some speak none, and all will appreciate it if you attempt to address them in Spanish.
TRAVEL TO SAN RAMON AND LA FORTUNA
If you would like to visit either city on your day off, our friends at reception can help you plan your trip.
