About Animal love

We are 16 life-long friends, all Israeli and vegan animal-lovers who moved to Costa Rica in 2005. We established a non-profit, no-kill charitable organization founded on the belief that all animals deserve respectful and loving treatment and must be protected by humans as well as by law.

Whenever we come across animals who are abused, abandoned, sick or injured, we take action to prevent further suffering and give them a safe and loving home. We have around 1300 animals cats, dogs, horses, geese, ducks, goats, rabbits, sheep and hens as well as the wildlife of the cloud forest where we are located.

The work while staying with us is 8 hours a day 6 days a week.
We ask our volunteers to stay with us for a minimum of two weeks
We provide a dorm bed, linens, laundry and there is wifi in the property.
We also provide 3 tasty vegan meals per day.
As a gratitude for our volunteer’s help, we offer discounts on outdoor activities on the volunteers day off. The activities include canopy/zipline, rappelling through water falls, rafting, guided hiking trails, ATV and bungee jumping. If you would like to enjoy a meal from the hotel guest menu, you will get a 25% discount

13:30-15:00: Lunch and break

15:00-16:00: Walking with dogs of the office

16:00-17:00: Office work

17:00-17:30: Break

17:30-18:45: Walking with dogs in the rescue center

18:45: Dinner, free time

My experience was one of a kind. You're located in the middle of the beautiful cloud forest and there are so many routes to explore with amazing nature and animals of the jungle. The guys who run it are truly incredible and work so hard yet if ever you need something they are always there to help you. Altogether the people, the animals, the friends and forest create a magical experience... I only hope to return some day in the future. Thank you all so much :)))))

Staying at the rescue center for 2 weeks was a really great experience!😄 You really have to love animals to volunteer at this place, it's a lot of hard work. All in all, we had a really good time together with the cute dogs☺️The food is really good (vegan) and the staff is friendly and helpful. The right place to go if your heart beats for animals!

Meir and all the other family and friends are extremely generous and so totally committed to their project that it was very hard to leave. All volunteers are well taken care of and the food is incredibly delisious. The lodge’s surrounding nature is breathtaking and wowed me every single day.Thanks to all the amazing hard working crew for making this one of my best work away experience in Costa Rica.
